Administration
The heart of this
First Nation government, the primary responsibility of the Central Administration
is to facilitate the proper over-all administration, management, productivity
and accountability of the departments, programs, services and major function
areas. It is the center were interdisciplinary collaboration, cohesiveness
and teamwork is encouraged and coordinated to ensure the consultative
services, assistance, administrative and management support is provided
to the Leadership Body and toward the advancement of the Mikisew Cree
First Nation.
Central Administration spearheads the formulation and implementation of
immediate and long range goals and objectives and the development and
administration of operating plans and policies to achieve the targets
of the Mikisew Cree First Nation, its Leadership and its people. More
importantly, the Central Administration ensures the proper accountability,
reporting and delivery of services through the established lines of authority
of the local government.
The main functions and services of the Central Administration are described
in the following:
Reception Services: The point were all inquiries, whether by person,
telephone, fax or mail are received. The Receptionist greets everyone
and directs all inquiries to the appropriate department, program or MCFN
personnel.
Administrative and Management Support Services: A well managed and
productive organization with a positive and healthy work environment was
achieved by the Mikisew Cree First Nation with a commitment to ensuring
administrative services and modern technology to support the employees
in the fulfillment of their mandates. These support services also insure
this First Nation government can administer, manage and deliver quality
services effectively and efficiently with a minimum of staff.
Membership Support Services: Provides membership support services
for the people of the this First Nation. Responsible for maintaining the
official Membership List and the safe keeping of personal membership documents
and records, the Membership office also has all the forms for new birth
registration, wills and estate, for new membership and transferring. The
Membership office can administer the wills and estates of members and
also provides Wills and Estate information kits.
In addition to membership records, an official record of where all the
people of the Mikisew Cree First Nation reside is maintained through this
office for communication and distribution purposes.

Communication and Reporting: Central Administration is responsible
for facilitating and providing timely, reliable and appropriate information
and reports to the Leadership Body regarding the affairs, functions, operations
and performance of the organization.
Central Administration also insures and administers measures and systems
for effective communications and reporting between all levels of the organization.
Planning: An important role of the Central Administration is to
facilitate proactive planning between all levels of the organization for
achieving the goals and objectives of the Leadership Body and the advancement
of the Mikisew Cree First Nation. In addition to this, Central Administration
insures the development of medium and long range plans for approval by
the Leadership for all departments, programs and services of the Mikisew
Cree First Nation.
